Meet the management.
Second Street is co-owned and -operated by Doug Villhard and Matt Coen, who have been both friends and business partners for more than 10 years. After meeting at Pulitzer Inc., where they gained insight into the unique challenges facing local media companies, Doug and Matt founded SportsHuddle, a leading high school sports website, which they sold in 2000.
Doug and Matt separately founded UPICKEM and myCapture. In 2007, the two combined their companies in order to better serve their existing customers and better respond to new opportunities.
Doug Villhard
A graduate of Truman State University with a master’s degree from Boston University, Doug started out his career as a producer at Disney Interactive and Disney Online for several years before having his first child and relocating to St. Louis to be closer to family.
Doug is a programmer by trade, but a golfer at heart. He and his wife, Diane, have four young children and if he’s not on his laptop he’s shuttling kids from one activity to the next, all the while dreaming of lowering his handicap.
Matt Coen
A Rhode Island native and Connecticut College grad, Matt cut his teeth running political campaigns on the East Coast. After getting married, Matt followed his wife Emily to the Midwest, where he joined Pulitzer Inc.’s New Media division and ultimately met Doug Villhard.
Matt is a political and sports junkie and spends his free time shuttling his three sons between basketball games and political rallies.
