Matt Chaney joins Second Street after managing one of the country’s largest daily deals websites
ST. LOUIS, MO. (May 17, 2011) – Second Street, the leading provider of online promotions platforms for local media companies, announced today it has hired a new director of affiliate deals success. Matt Chaney comes from The San Diego Union-Tribune where he helped to launch and manage the newspaper’s daily deals website – one of the largest in the country. He will be responsible for consulting with Second Street clients that utilize Deadline Deals, the company’s proprietary white-label technology platform that supports daily deals websites.
“Matt Chaney is an excellent addition to our team and will help our partners maximize the impact of their daily deals offerings by advising them on industry best practices to enhance revenue generation, email list growth and user base expansion,” said Second Street president and co-founder Matt Coen. “Our goal is to offer not only outstanding technology, but also counsel on how to drive ROI.”
Chaney was an early entrant into the daily deals space at The San Diego Union-Tribune and the product development manager of a team that built an unprecedented operation in terms of revenue generation. His experience and successes will allow Second Street’s clients to better realize their goals.
Deadline Deals provides users with a platform to offer daily deals from advertisers to their communities. The platform helps local media companies generate revenue with minimal overhead while increasing website traffic and consumer loyalty. More than 200 local media companies, including The Washington Post, McClatchy, Scripps and Lee Enterprises, are using Deadline Deals to administer their daily deal programs.
“Second Street’s industry-leading technology offers a unique combination of deals and promotions software that has delivered results for media companies,” said Chaney. “I am thrilled to be part of such a well-respected team. We have a genuine commitment to outstanding client service and my position as director of affiliate deals success is part and parcel of that philosophy.”
