We’re learning what deals work and what doesn’t. We started this program with 16K email addresses in our database (gathered mostly through UPICKEM contests). We’ve now added over 2,200 email addresses from viewers that have signed up specifically for Daily Deals. I think Daily Deals is the single best marketing tool we have to grow our email database. We have also starting sending SMS messages to mobile phones. We see this as just the beginning. As we pick up steam and get smarter as we learn from each deal, we will only continue to experience success”.

I think the main thing we learn [as we go along] is what deals we should NOT do. Obviously, entertainment and dining are premier performers. Retail shops have not done well for us. Higher priced deals like health services/spas/salons are doing very well. It really comes down to making sure there are the LEAST amount of restrictions on the deal as possible. Explaining this to the advertiser and breaking down the cost/benefit analysis to them makes all the difference. We’ve been able to secure a lot of deals by looking at it from a business perspective.”
